    Dispatch Time

    Orders are carefully prepared and dispatched from our East Sussex workshop within 3-5 working days. Please note that dispatch times may vary during peak periods, and we will notify you of any delays.

    Delivery

    We use Royal Mail Tracked 24 service for all deliveries. Once dispatched, your order should arrive within 1-2 working days. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by unforeseen circumstances, such as postal service delays

    Shipping Destination

    At this time, we offer shipping exclusively to the United Kingdom. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to expand to international destinations in the future.

    - All items are securely packaged in sustainable packaging to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.

    - Working days exclude weekends and UK public holidays.

    - We are not responsible for delays caused by the postal service, but we will assist you if issues arise.

  • You must return your unwanted products for a refund within 10 working days from the day you received the Products. The Products, including their original packaging, must be returned “as new” in a saleable condition.

    We recommend sending your unwanted items back via recorded delivery as we cannot refund products damaged or lost in transit.

    We will examine the returned product and will notify you of your refund via email within a reasonable period of time. We will process your refund or exchange within 5 working days of receipt of your returned item. At this point we will e-mail you confirmation of a refund, or send you your replacement. Please therefore do not contact us until 5 working days have passed since we received your return. Please be assured that we will endeavour to process refunds and exchanges as quickly as possible.

    We will refund the price of the products in full. Unfortunately we cannot cover the cost of return postage. We will usually refund any money received from you using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase.

    Please note: Unless faulty, items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements are non-refundable.

  • A Contemporary Mid-Century Finish

    At Harley & Steffan, all products, unless otherwise stated, are finished with a deep satin luster using a technique originated by renowned American furniture maker Thayer Coggin. Developed in the 1950s and 1960s, Coggin crafted custom oils for his mid-century designs, a legacy refined by British sculptural furniture maker Marc Fish. Marc analyzed Coggin’s formula and adapted it with the preferred choice of craftsmen, Osmo Oil, a process Stephen learned firsthand during a finishing course at Marc’s studio in Newhaven, Sussex.

    This meticulous technique requires significant effort, beginning with a 30-minute soaking of Osmo oil, which is carefully removed, hand buffed to a deep sheen, and then allowed to cure for up to 12 hours. This process is repeated across six coats in total, a labor-intensive endeavor that spans days of dedicated work.

    The result reflects Harley & Steffan’s commitment to craftsmanship, where every step underscores the quality of our handcrafted pieces.

  • All Harley & Steffan products are individually hand crafted and not factory manufactured. Products have subtle variations from one piece to the next, caused by variations in the wood as well as the hand crafting.

    The images, descriptions and measurements have been used to best portray our products, but are subject to variation.
